I am Yiran Shu — a choreographer, performer, and filmmaker working between slow images, physical detail, and the stories bodies carry when words run out.
My practice moves across stage, camera, and collaboration: choreography for live and lens, dance film, and roles where movement and character meet. I care about nuance, rhythm, and the courage it takes to stay with a small gesture until it becomes legible.
Work
Recent dance film work includes A Quiet Longing (with Pearlyn Ho), recognized at The Monthly Film Festival. I also build ensemble and intimate choreographies, movement-based image projects, and performance for film and theatre.
